This is a durable necklace, made entirely out of solid stainless steel. The solid hamsa hand pendant is embellished with lots of spirals and a hand-set grey cat's eye cabochon.
The pendant is attached to a so-called 'ball and stick' chain, measuring 45cm in length and closing with a lobster claw clasp. I have attached a four leaf clover next to the clasp - for even more good luck.
The pendant measures 2.8cm in height, 2 cm in width.
The Hamsa symbol is found in several cultures throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa. It is believed to be a symbol of protection; the symmetrical hand with five fingers also symbolizes the power of the number five.
The hand, particularly the open right hand, is a sign of protection that also represents blessings, power and strength, and is seen as potent in deflecting the evil eye.
