This is the slightly different pentagram pendant. This one is framed by a wreath of roses.
I picked up on the roses theme and added a wire wrapped garnet gemstone together with a black spinel for the darkness.
The pendant is attached to a dressy, flexible mesh chain which closes with a lobster claw clasp and also has a wire wrapped labradorite drop attached next to the clasp.
Total length of the necklace is 50cm, total length of the pendant is 4cm.
The necklace is made out of solid stainless steel, the pentagram pendant is hand-cast right here in Australia out of premium pewter.
The pentagram was used in ancient times as a Christian symbol for the five senses and much later gained popularity as a magic symbol, attributing the five neoplatonic elements to the five points.
The five pointed star symbol is also used by one of the Freemason's orders (Order of the Eastern Star) and in the national flags of Morocco (adopted 1915) and Ethiopia (adopted 1996).
