A set of two (2) antique silver brooches created from domed ovals with delicate fretwork and bails for hanging cascade necklace strands. The brooches are completed with pin backs (similar to the second photo, along the length of the brooch, but in silver tone).

These viking style brooches are perfect for women's historical reenactment attire of the Viking era, where they are used to attach strands of cascade treasure necklaces to an outfit's apron for a graceful drape across the bodice.

Size: 4.5cm including the bail

(Last Picture in Listing Photos is for EXAMPLE only. For design on face of brooch please refer to close-up pictures in listing.)

Viking women of higher status typically wore ornate brooches to fasten their outer garment (apron) which was held up by straps over the shoulders. These brooches were decorated by a cascade of beaded strands between them and are often found in women's graves and art of the Viking period.
