Ironstone is a sedimentary rock which contains substantial proportions of iron.
If ironstone is found as red or black banded form, it is called tiger iron.
The large tiger iron pendant I used for this necklace has been mined, cut and polished in Australia. The stone has a natural, rough line at the front and I attached a lovely flower charm, partly covering the line.
The pendant is wire wrapped to a solid brass trace chain which measures 60cm in length and closes with an over sized, solid spring ring clasp.
All metal is solid brass which has been lightly oxidised and polished. This is a substantial necklace, the gemstone measuring 38mm in diameter.
