Iolite Necklace

This attractive necklace showcases a large inky blue iolite.

The polished gemstone is wire wrapped to a classic rope chain made out of solid stainless steel.

The Iolite gemstone measures approx. 3cm or 1 1/4 in length.  

Iolite shows pronounced pleochroism which is an optical phenomenon in which a stone appears to be different colours (grey) when observed at different angles.

I have used anti-tarnish steel tone wire to wrap the gemstone.
