Solar Quartz Necklace

This unique gemstone is a 'solar quartz'.

Solar Quartz is the natural, colorless variety of the quartz family formed in limestone caves as stalactites. The features within the stones are from elements in the surrounding ground when the crystal quartz is forming as a stalactite so depending on the specific mineral the colors can differ. The stones can be transparent to opaque in quality and have a vitreous luster. Solar Quartz is mined in Brazil, Madagascar, India, Mozambique, Namibia, Sri Lanka, and the United States.

I have wire wrapped the gemstone to  a gunmetal grey chain which measures 41cm or 16 1/2 inches.
