Faceted Pearl Earrings

These earrings display very attractive shiny shell pearls in a dark silvery grey shade. The un-usual part is that the pearls are actually faceted.

Shell Pearls are made from the inner lining of oyster shells, also known as Mother of Pearl. The substance is ground to a fine powder, shaped, dyed and coated with natural pearl nacre and then a protective coating to give it lustre.

They measure a great medium size of 1/2 inch (12mm) and are framed by flower bead caps.

Topped with tiny, shiny Czech glass beads, the earrings are then attached to Bali style ear wires.

Total length is 3cm, 1 1/4 inch.
