Rutilated Quartz Earrings in Solid Bronze

These are large, pear shaped gemstones, measuring 14mm in height. The gemstones are faceted and wire wrapped with solid bronze wire and attached to hand made bronze ear wires. The ear wires are wire wrapped with sparkling crystals.

Rutilated quartz is natural rock quartz with hair fine inclusions, called 'rutiles'. 

Total length of the earrings is 3.2cm, they will come with clear rubber stoppers to prevent loss.

Solid Bronze is not a very common metal in jewelry. It is an alloy consisting of copper and tin (brass is an alloy of copper and zinc). Solid bronze has a beautiful warm golden color. It will tarnish similar to brass or sterling silver, but I have treated these earrings with a jewelry lacquer to keep them longer tarnish free.
