More info

A large, carved peach moonstone drop is sitting on one of my hand torched ball pins and has then been attached to a solid copper ball chain.

The shimmering peach moonstone is not a true spiral as the carved rings just go around once, but it reminded me of a spiral. I hand formed a spiral charm out of heavy gauge copper wire to accompany the moonstone pendant.

All metal has been oxidised to a near black finish which I polished so that only tiny amounts of copper shine through to pick up the colour of the gorgeous moonstone.

Total length of the moonstone gem on its own is approx. 30mm.

Total length of the ball chain is 40cm.

All metal is solid copper which has been oxidised, polished and sealed with a non-toxic jewellery lacquer to preserve the shine.

"The spiral is a very positive symbol which has found its way into just about any culture: From rock carvings in Australia to Japanese Rock Gardens as well as African art.

It does not belong to any religious or political group - the spiral belongs to all of us.

It has been associated with the journey of life, the cycle of time and the seasons.

The *spiral* appears in a lot of natural phenomena - in hurricanes and tornadoes, in the pattern of seeds in a sunflower, in the growing tips of ferns, in the pattern that leaves grow on a stem, in the shape of a nautilus shell, and, as a helix, the shape of the DNA molecule."
