This filigree style hamsa hand pendant also incorporates the symbol for the evil eye protection.

I attached the Hamsa hand charm to a polished, square fluorite bead which shows lovely banding, rather typical for natural fluorite. The square bead is framed by bead caps and beads in bronze and then topped with a smaller purple fluorite bead.

Total length of the classic cable chain is 50cm, closure is a lobster claw clasp.

Length of the pendant is 8cm, all metal is antique bronze finished.

The Hamsa symbol is found in several cultures throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa. It is believed to be a symbol of protection; the symmetrical hand with five fingers also symbolizes the power of the number five.

The hand, particularly the open right hand, is a sign of protection that also represents blessings, power and strength, and is seen as potent in deflecting the evil eye.
